Answers based on real condition
Protection adds a rubber layer to a sole that is still good to resist wear and slipping. Repair fixes a sole that has separated from the shoe. The purpose differs, so they are quoted separately.
Vibram is thicker and longer-lasting; Sole 3M is thinner for everyday use; Sole Gel follows complex tread on some newer shoes. A technician advises by outsole pattern.
It can reduce early wear on the original sole. EXTRIM checks the outsole first, since some soles are not suitable.
Vibram carries a 60-day warranty against natural separation; Sole 3M and Sole Gel 14 days, under normal wear. Wear, loss and punctures are not covered.
